These first two pics show Rena in a fairly emaciated state, having been feeding a litter of puppies for 5 1/2 weeks. In this condition - zero fat, muscle literally being consumed by her body as food, puppies sucking every possible nutrient out of her, Rena is still 90 pounds of dog. That's a pretty good sized girl - quite a bit larger than most American Bulldog females, and these days, bigger than quite a few American Bulldog males too. You'll see what I mean in a minute.

I've used this poor quality pic to use the chair as a frame of reference, the arm being 25 inches from the floor. Standing a foot behind the chair, Rena is obviously taller.

Rena also has excellent structure: Straight topline, square and balanced, solid pasterns, decent angulation of the hock, feet all pointed forward, good head and plenty of long, hard muscle possessed only by running dogs. And man can my Rena run. She stretches out straight as a board from back toes to tip of nose, as she simply eats acres in eight foot bounds, seeming to never touch the ground. Rena glides over mixed terrain like fast rushing water, catching rabbits and squirrels almost without effort.

Perhaps the most accurate way to view Rena is compared to Blasco's Doc Holliday below, summer 2013. While they're on broken terrain with some elevation, you can nonetheless see that Rena is roughly the same height as Doc, and a thickly muscled up girl in her own right. Fact is, Rena is really difficult to get good pictures of, just because this girl is always on the move, rarely stopping and standing still long enough to point a camera at her.
